

On 3 July 2026, the National Media Association of Uzbekistan and the Progressive Reforms Center (CPR) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The memorandum was signed by Odiljon Tojiyev, Chairman of the Board of the National Media Association of Uzbekistan, and Mirshohid Aslanov, Co-Founder and Director of CPR. The agreement is aimed at strengthening cooperation in advancing the media sector, supporting digital transformation, promoting openness and transparency in the information space, and enhancing media and information literacy across society.
Within the framework of the partnership, the parties intend to jointly address key challenges in the media and information technology sectors, develop proposals to improve the legislative framework, and establish dialogue platforms bringing together members of parliament, government institutions, civil society organizations, and representatives of the media.
The memorandum also provides for the organization of seminars, training programs, roundtable discussions, and other academic and professional events to facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen professional capacity, and promote collaboration among experts and practitioners. In addition, the parties will cooperate in preparing analytical materials and expert assessments on issues of mutual interest.
This partnership marks an important step in advancing CPR’s mission to foster an open and modern information environment, improve media literacy, and support Uzbekistan’s ongoing digital reform agenda.
