Nargiz Qosimova is a distinguished Uzbek journalist, scholar, and environmental advocate, specializing in eco-journalism and media literacy. She holds a PhD in Philology and is a professor focused on environmental journalism.
As the Director of "Ekolog" Public Association, she leads initiatives promoting environmental awareness and media literacy. She played a key role in introducing eco-journalism courses into Uzbekistan’s academic curriculum and establishing a dedicated Eco-Journalism Department.
Qosimova is also a trainer and consultant for organizations like UNDP, USAID, OSCE, UNESCO, and UNICEF, conducting media and gender equality training sessions. She collaborates with government agencies and international NGOs to strengthen environmental policies and public awareness campaigns.
Her commitment to media excellence has earned her over 40 national and international awards, including the "Excellence in Public Education" (2011), "Defender of Human Rights" (2019), and "Environmental Protector" (2023) medals.
